► CANCELED: Q&A with Jennifer Wright
Getting Your Research Published: New Trends and Challenges for Researchers to Understand
This Q+A discussion will feature Jennifer Wright, of Cambridge University Press, discussing current trends in academic publishing, including open research, preprints and other new publishing models, peer review, and publishing ethics. All members of the Caltech community are welcome, but we especially hope to offer early-career researchers, including graduate students and postdocs, the opportunity to learn about new opportunities and challenges they are likely to encounter in getting their work published. Because this is an informal Q+A rather than a presentation, participants will have a chance to pose their own questions and concerns to Dr. Wright.
Jennifer Wright is part of Cambridge's Scholarly Communications Research & Development team and supports a broad range of activities in open research, publication ethics and integrity, higher education policy, and publishing innovation. Dr. Wright leads Cambridge University Press's Research Integrity and Publication Ethics team, and she supports Cambridge's books, journals, higher education program, and preprint platform. Jennifer was previously a postdoctoral researcher in ecology and climate science, and she also holds an MBA from Cranfield University.
This event is co-sponsored by the Caltech Center for Science, Society, and Public Policy and the Hixon Writing Center.
