Election Science Office Hours, a webinar series presented by the Caltech 2024 Election Integrity Project
Please join us on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 11:00 am Pacific for the next installment of Election Science Office Hours, a webinar series presented by the Caltech 2024 Election Integrity Project and moderated by R. Michael Alvarez, PhD, Flintridge Foundation Professor of Political and Computational Social Science at Caltech and Co-Director of the Linde Center for Science, Society, and Policy (LCSSP) at Caltech.
During this episode of Election Science Office Hours, Professor Alvarez's guests will be Paul Gronke, PhD, a Professor of Political Science at Reed College and Founder and Director of the Elections & Voting Information Center (EVIC) and Paul Manson, PhD, a Research Assistant Professor with the Portland State University Center for Public Service.
Professor Alvarez and his guests, Professors Gronke and Manson, will be discussing the EVIC and its rise over the past two decades to becoming a national center of excellence for policy research and publicly engaged scholarship into election administration, election reform, and electoral integrity.
The focus of their discussion will be on EVIC's Local Election Official (LEO) Survey Project, EVIC's marquee research project, and specifically the results of their 2024 EVIC LEO Survey, fielded in August-October 2024.
The LEO Survey project amplifies local election officials' voices in national, regional, and state conversations about election administration, and integrity. This project was initiated in 2018 by EVIC and has continued annually with 2019, 2020, 2022, and 2023 surveys fielded by the group. The 2024 EVIC LEO Survey is the sixth survey in this series. The EVIC team also conducts independent research into election administration, integrity, and democracy using these data and other information about election administration and those who staff the frontlines of democracy. More information can be found at the Elections & Voting Information Center (EVIC) website.
